Can you tell me the difference between Google trends and Google insights?

Google Trends tells you what people are currently searching for - the hot topics of the day type of thing.

Insights gives you more in-depth information and data, like what geos the searches are coming from. You can also see which topics related to your keyword are rising or falling over time.
