Ok after a long hiatus from AFF marketing I am looking to get back into it and have a few questions.

1. Is it still possible to make income using websites?
2. What are the to 5 things I need to know that are different from AFF Marketing from say 2010.

Any and all feedback is appreciated! Thanks!

Hi DigDoug, and welcome to AffiliateFix!

1. Is it still possible to make income using websites?

Of course it is and in a far more sophisticated and business like manner that opens the doors to bigger money and more sustainable business models. If you are referring to content sites, then that's where the big money can really be made and have a sellable asset when you decide to exit.

2. What are the to 5 things I need to know that are different from AFF Marketing from say 2010.

Dozens of new tools. More refined techniques, methods, and strategies. A far greater selection of networks and programs to work with, and so, so, much more. The answer to your question can easily fill two 500 words per page paperbacks.
Your question is a perfect question to ask, and your answers will come as needed when you spend the next few months learning about it/them and start implementing.

Well as i work with free traffic i would give you my opinion

Affiliate marketing changed a lot now compared to few years ago where you would make some posts ,share some links on fb groups etc and you will get traffic ,email subscribers ,sales

Now its very competitive plus now you must come with the value by helping people ,fix problems ,give real value etc and just posting ,creating bunch of content and sharing links doesnt work

Nowadays social media site dont like marketars ,links etc as they want people to pay for ads so as soon they see links ,promotion etc they dont give you almost no reach

As example i remember in the past on facebook groups you will make a post with a link and quicly you will get likes ,comments ,poeple clicking your link etc

Now i see people posting great posts with no link and barely getting any likes almost no reach

^^^ All of this is above correct! ^^^

Markets change, policies change, paradigms change, and we must adapt. This is nothing new. In fact, it happens in every emerging industry since the dawn of time. True business people know this and make preparations for adaptations when they start a new business. It never stops. Change is a part of business! Name a business and you will see it has made adaptations and modifications since its inception.

Those that want to do what worked 20 years ago, 10 years ago, 5 years ago, are not going to make it. Get a set of brains on what works now and start your new business with that! Those that already have an ongoing business, learn to implement adaptations.
