Free Image optimizer software?

I am looking for a simple free program that will optimize and resize images. I need it to include in the website as my client are uploading 1mb jpeg to there website and its loading very slow and using a lot of bandwidth.

Does anyone have any suggestions?

You can use Gimp..

You can use Gimp..Its free,nice,small in size and a fine photo editing software...Just need to give sometime to figure it out. Search it by name and you will get it totally free..

I use Fotosizer for this purpose, it is free and fast in batch dealing photos.
