Fashion Affiliate Marketing Journey 2021 (SEO Traffic)

It's so labor intensive at the start getting the ball rolling
I get these recurring doubts
"am I making things too complicated?" (probably)
"is there and easier way?" (of course there is !!)
"this post isn't perfect, I could have made it better" (that 1 is never going away)
"Google will de-rank my site at any moment" (they probably will)
It's a constant battle to shut out the demons and keep moving forward

Back to the subject at hand.....I think your most recent update looks promising. You've already got returning visitors and they are looking beyond the first page. Not a bad start!

They want my website for the blog post package but I no longer have one, so I tried the on-page SEO package, for a site I used to publish on (not mine) that I want to go back to and fix old articles but they want my phone number. Dang it!
I Googled hubspot contact info and used their corporate website, email and telephone :rofl:rofl:rofl

Today I created a new revenue chart to track affiliate commission
Focused on commission performance meeting targets
Doesn't show visitor traffic --> too time consuming
Showing 3 days random numbers as an example

DateNetwork 1Network 2Network 3Network 4Total
Monthly Target$500$500$500$500$2,000
Monthly Total$32$30$38$22$122
Daily Target$16.66$16.66$16.66$16.66$66.66
Daily Average$10.66$10$12.66$7.33$10.16
05/15/2021$15$12$29$3$59
05/14/2021$8$9$2$6$25
05/13/2021$9$9$7$13$38
Although i am trying to follow your thread but sometimes I just can't seem too, this is one of those times.
4 networks? these are multiple website with as in website 1 - Network 1 and website 2 - network 2 and so on?

Sorry, you're correct that does look confusing
I have 6 sites live, but main 2 sites
  1. Fashion clothing site --> fall/winter 2020
  2. Fashion clothing site --> spring/summer 2021
This thread is mainly about the second site, new for 2021
But 90% commission I get now is from the 2020 site
It's probably best I stop referring to 2020 site commission on this thread
TY for mentioning that

@chrisinlight96 4 networks are all on the 2020 site

Still watching the Neil Patel videos
Will be updating Ubersuggest thread later
Just a word about perfection
One of the hardest things about content creation is striving for perfection
I know that it cannot be achieved, not with the rate of technological change
However there are basic things I still get wrong
Spelling mistakes, broken links, factual errors
Today I was looking at Google Analytics - live traffic
8 visitors in past 30 minutes
I went to see what content they were looking at
Noticed loads of errors, just really simple things
The worst part is that a factual error can spread false information
Means I'm not actually helping people, which is my number 1 goal
It's a learning process, and I'm getting better all the time
But making basic mistakes really scratches my eardrums

Spelling mistakes
Are you typing your content directly into your website editor, or in a word processor initially? Either way, a spell checker could take care of that for you. Automation. :)

It's a learning process, and I'm getting better all the time
But making basic mistakes really scratches my eardrums
I get that it's irksome but like you said, it's a learning process propelling you towards that "perfection" you seek. :D

Don't be hard on yourself, you have good motives.

Quick Update

My target this year is $100k affiliate commission
Breakeven monthly it's $2k (that's cash on the table) to pay all bills
So I need to have earned $24k by December 31
Or at least have 3-6 months consistent $2k every month
If not then I'm changing from SEO to paid ads like many have suggested
Will also change from fashion to adult and crypto
The key is to be specific and relentless
This is going to work - or I'm in coffin and it won't matter !! :p

Thursday
New tools I've used this week

Tools are devices used to carry out functions
I am constantly on the look-out for tools that improve the quality and speed of my work
The 4 main stages of my content journey are
  • Research --> Look for trending questions with high search volume & low competition
  • Creation --> Typing stories about products, internal linking of stories, editing images
  • Promotion --> Ranking in search engines, sharing on social media, app link sharing
  • Optimization --> Ongoing improvement to content and processes (endless journey !!)
These are new tools I've added to the bookmark bar this week
  1. Optimizely Optimization Glossary
  2. Adobe Education Exchange
  3. Crazy Egg Heatmap Tool

Affiliate Insider asks how YouTube's new TOS will affect affiliate marketers
Just did a quick read of this one and it sucks. Not the article, the part where content creators will "not have full control over the ads on their videos."

Google is a greedy control freak.

Game streamers and anyone interested in G withholding tax are going to want to read this, too. Just to be informed.

The article is short and to the point, worth a few minutes to see what they're planning on doing and how it will affect you.

Monday
Screenshot of last 7 days traffic (Mon-Sun)

W-O-W traffic for May 17-23 increased 103%
Unusually traffic peaked midweek, it's normally weekend uplift
I've been publishing fewer posts (2-3 posts per day instead of 10-20 week before) ..
.. but post length and quality is on the way to becoming exceptional
I must learn to follow templates and stick to the scheduled start and end time
Bounce rate dropped 4% --> metric of primary focus
Needs to drop below 50%, currently edging towards 60%
Testing a new SEO tactic which is to post content without affiliate ads
Leaving it 1 week to get indexed before putting ads on
Majority of traffic is still coming from Bing, Google is catching up
So who bought a hoodie from @SEOBlogPosts?
They are very cool --> coolesthoodies.com
That's a friendly plug, I'm not getting any kick-back

Sharing work templates

My new rule simplifies everything
2 notebooks for ideas/plans
Notebook 1 is affiliate business ideas/plans
Notebook 2 is personal ideas/plans
Friday afternoon I go through notebook 1 scheduling or erasing
Sunday afternoon I do the same with notebook 2
That way all my ideas are released from brain storage
Then either scheduled or erased
