Can't determine how many backlinks I have??

Google Webmaster Tools says I have 25 backlinks. I have tried at least a dozen online backlink checkers and they say I have zero backlinks. I think I probably have in the range of 80-100 backlinks so far.

Their doesn't seem to be a good and accurate way to check. Does anyone know how?

The only ones that matter are the ones Google (and Bing) knows about and Google probably underreports what it knows.

You can try using this Google search query:

[noparse]allinurl:yourdomain.com -site:yourdomain.com[/noparse]

The -site part of that query excludes links within your own domain.

I tried that one and it does not work very well but I did find a site that catches them all called Backlinks Checker Tool - Backlink Watch

That's not very accurate. Why do you say the Google query doesn't work?

Google webmaster says I have 25 links to my site and I have 177

I meant the allinurl query, not Google Webmaster.

Google Webmaster may well be telling you only about the ones they haven't discounted, i.e., the ones they count for ranking.

Also when I do site:yourdomain.com I get 137

Open Site Explorer is another great tool by SEOMOZ to check your backlinks.
Google webmasters takes forever to show recent backlinks.

I am using the webmaster tool of google in my chrome browser. And there are all results for google, bing and alexa.
