Can affiliate networks tell if you direct link to a CPA offer from an email?

Hi guys, I have a question. I'm getting into email marketing for CPA advertising. Many affiliate networks don't allow direct linking to CPA offers via an email though.

My question: can CPA networks tell that traffic came to a merchant's landing page via email?

Thanks

Direct Linking is not a good idea with CPA, or most other forms of a funnel.

If they find out you violated their terms, you'll lose your account. Why risk it?

No, not from their server log ...
Only if there is a spam complaint and their domain was used ...
So, if your affiliate id is used in links without a referrer --they are assumed as spam (and they most likely are).
A few might be your testing or showing someone perhaps ...
302 and JavaScript redirects will use the last referring domain as the referrer ...
See: man-in-the-middle

As Graybeard said; they'll know once they receive the spam/abuse reports.

It's also not very wise to direct link, since most tracking domain names used by affiliate networks are "blacklisted" by most major email providers, so you won't even reach their inboxes.

Just use a prelander, performance is better while using one eitherway!

Yes, when you generate a link you can see how you can send traffic and cannot.
