Authority sites can be an awesome means of generating revenue. They are in abundance, they do require WORK up front. They need to be groomed and refined to get them "tuned in" to their intended audience. However, these long term sites can bring in awesome returns and they can be stacked upon one another.
I'm currently setting up some myself. I've had a few very small and highly targeted niche sites that are a type of authority sites, but I am going to step it up and create some large audience Authority Sites.
