Ugh! Why is my account disabled?

I signed up with Bing Ads in May and added my credit card details immediately. After that I didn't get a chance to start any campaign so the account was sitting idly. Today when I tried to log into my account, I got a message that my account is disabled as 'security precaution'. What the????

Searching their forum, there are people reporting similar cases and all replies from Bing support are copy-paste standard reply.

As much as I want to start with PPC (AdWords, Bing, FB) this leaves me wondering if PPV is a better route to start. I see people reporting accounts being disabled even when they comply to the TOS.

Same thing happened to me yesterday! I'm actually feeling better if it's happening across the board. Means more likely it is just standard verification. I thought they caught cloaking!

Have you tried to contact them? One person said the support staff asked many personal questions to the point that made him feel suspicious.

Yeah I did. Did an online chat with support. They did ask personal questions, like last 4 of card, billing address, expiry and name as appears. I was a bit suspicious also, especially when the rep said they had to submit to a "specialist" and I should receive a response within 24-48 hours. Anyway, I didn't get an email this morning but decided to login and BOOM, I'm back in! :)

I was the same as you, opened the account, used it a little, sat idle for a while, then this week I setup a new campaign, and was locked out. Perhaps it has something to do with the account being idle for a while. Try an online chat with their support, give the info and you should be alright.

Wow, I think that person in Bing forum also said the same thing, i.e the support staff still couldn't do anything and had to escalate it. Glad to hear your account is back.
