Is it possible that he was working with the Feds beforehand to help investigate? Kinda undercover stuff? If TV shows mimic real life situations then they may have approached him to work with them for the purpose of gaining evidence. Possibly assuring his anonymity.

All fun speculation, of course.

We live in days of secrecy and deception. Like you said, it's pretty unusual that a partner was left out of the legal actions against the other partners. It's possible the entirety of truth (and nothing but the truth) will go unreported.

This has been going on for while, but is always interesting to read about what goes on behind the scenes (In this case rather publicly) of the big time internet marketers. I mean its crazy how much the affiliate networks make, especially the leaders in the industry, like CPAlead, Adwork Peerly etc and how we never see them on the news etc.
