I myself have never used Pay Per Click advertising.....why bother when you can get to the top organically for FREE?
Some of my competitors use PPC because they have lousy web SEO.
I've heard (thru the grapevine) that they are UPSET because they are paying more and more for the KW clicks...
I like to drop anchor at a bazillion places......but social networks are good traffic boosters and your leads from these sites have the highest conversion rate.
Yelp.com is local to the big US cities & northern CA -- but it may overtake Facebook as it has already done in San Francisco.
I feel the same way about Twitter.
Although I've got a profile there, I'm not using it very much.
Similarly with FaceBook-- I only log into my profile once every two weeks.
I've noticed, for quite some time now -- that when I post at DP or other forums, with a topic & content that matches my site's KW, I'll see what I call "PPC Parasites" (my competitors who use Pay Per Click), in those ubiquitous "Ads By Google".
Here's my diabolical plan, need some input...
Yup......that is all good stuff (It worked for me).
I also recommend using Web Site Grader to perform diagnostics on you on-page SEO:

If the site is "DO FOLLOW" -- it warrants some of your time, at least to fill out your profile and answer a couple of quick questions.

I love it!!!

They crawl no-follow links for purposes of comparing KW & relevancy
"What The Googlebot Sees" : GWT shows no-follow links in their External Link count
Anchor Text from no-follow links goes into relevancy &...

Joseph, you're preaching to the choir......I'm completely with you 100%
I'm using Yelp, City Voter, City Search, and other UGC's to full advantage.
I network on the forums, and have developed a 5-star reputation in my niche.
What I'm saying is: I don't really NEED FB, MS, or Twit -- at this...
I'm not sold on Twitter or Facebook or You Tube.
I've got the minimum profile at each site......haven't done anything with my Twitter account in over a year!
