WordPress for FREE or what?

for affiliates who are starting and on maybe on a tight budget.

While I see the point that Word Press is great and acts like a website and a blog at the same time. Is it possible to start promoting products, writing articles and blog entries just like that with wordpress?

Yes it is. Don't let the fact that it is free put you off. WordPress is powerful and highly configurable blog software. It's no accident that it is used by thousands of professional bloggers, including affiliates.

But just be careful you're not thinking about WordPress.com (a lot of people confuse WordPress with WordPress.com and WP.com still frowns upon affiliate marketing/commercial endeavors on their site).

I'd also recommend reading Darren Rowse's blog if you're brand new to affiliate blogging. He has a ton of great information, all free, on how to set up and optimize your blog to earn.
