It can due to Google panda. It was the new update which hit many website. Mainly it low the page rank of those website which have low quality and duplicate contents. Solution to this problem "Don’t use any duplicate contents in your website. Try to keep the keywords density low."
google panda update has affected many websites especially article directories.

it can be several reason. we need more info drom you like site, for what keyword, did you change your site recently, did you do any seo recently,...
it's because of less quality backlinks.
Its because of No follow back links .. just work on social media bookmaking and social media networking sites to get traffic fast ..
