Which is more effective for business SEO or SMO?

There should be a proper utilization of both SEO and SMO in your blog. Earlier people used to concentrate only on SEO but now Google is also ranking the websites on the basis of their social media presence.
 
As you may know, SEO refers to search engine optimization and SMO refers to social media optimization. Both terms are used to describe how easy it is for others to find you and/or how close to the top your listing appears after a Google search. Succeeding with each requires different tactics.
 
Organic SEO is based more on keywords in blogs, back linking, localization services (Google Places) and webpage design, while SMO is based more on postings on social media sites. While both are considered important, SEO has traditionally been considered much more important. Meanwhile, SMO has jokingly been referred to as the bad stepchild, or the one that requires a lot more efforts only to yield poor results.
 
SMO is low bounce rate traffic that will help Organic SEO. SMO is expensive traffic. You can lower SMO/CPC costs with long tail keywords.

You need to choose one based on your interest. Both uses different method and achieve the target.The terms are mainly used in context to web masters and bloggers. Both, SEO and SMO are utilized to increase traffic to a website. However, SEO and SMO are quite different than each other and utilize different techniques to achieve their means.
