When did Google UK default change

When did Google.co.uk change from showing UK pages by default to making this a selectable option in a frame on the left of the window please?

Our site ranks no 1 for a particular search phrase when the search is UK restricted but our enquiries have dropped off significantly and I suspect that this is due to the change in behaviour - i.e. the fact that pages shown are no longer UK restricted by default. Hence we have effectively lost our no 1 slot.

This has been changed quite a long time ago, are you sure your rank dropped because of this particular change?

Thanks for the reply. I can't be 100% sure of course but the site is still no 1 when the UK filter is selected. Is it more than 4-6 months since the change?
