Whats better linkshare, cj, or google affiliate network?

Each of the networks you mentioned have their own unique merchants (a few overlap). They each have their own systems for getting links, banners and datafeeds and their own reporting methods. It is really hard to say which, if any is better. What I recommend is to first consider what products you want to market, then check out all three of those networks and see if they have merchants selling those products. Then see how many, what types of banners and what text links they offer. Then give them a try, perhaps swapping out one merchant for another every few weeks to see if anyone is better than another.

There's a lot more to consider, like EPC, commission rate, return rate, etc, but this is just a basic approach for newbies from just one persons point of view.

I really agree with Ron. 1st decide on niche, then product, THEN go looking in the networks to find the best merchant that has that product.

If the product is green widgets, you may only find it on one network. If the product is GPS you may find several merchants on each of the networks and can shop and compare commission, cookies, creative, etc and find the best merchant.
