What is organic traffic ?

Organic traffic is traffic produced by natural search engine results. This traffic is generated as a result of website optimization or "SEO". Many techniques can be used to accomplish develop SEO. This may include link generation, directory submissions, or other forms of "on site" optimization. Organic traffic means FREE or UNPAID traffic in SEO terms, many varieties of organic traffic are existing such as social media sharing, blog posting, forum posting, and many more.
 
Organic traffic is all the traffic that comes from unpaid sources on search engines like Google, Yahoo and Bing. It is what the whole SEO industry is built around to help website owners get better organic rankings and more clicks.

Organic traffic counts for between 85-90% of total clickthroughs on a search engine results page, which is why it makes sense to give it the attention it deserves. The other 10-15% comes from paid advert positions such as Google Adwords.
 
If the traffic coming from Search Engines and the naturally generated (i.e unpaid promotion) is called organic traffic. It is the basis of SEO industry and google gives it more importance above all else except for google adwords.
