I think everyone has explained enough about branding to you. I will like to give you an example now. I am sure you may have heard of Apple and Iphone, you can get much better phones and with better security for lesser price but people still prefer iPhone because of the brand value.
The brand is a "name, term, sign, symbol or design, or a combination of them intended to identify the goods and services of one seller or group of sellers and to differentiate them from those of other sellers.
