So I asked AI a simple question:
Website or video, what actually keeps you in the game in 2026?

Here’s the blunt answer.

Video is now the dominant attention channel. For roughly 90% of creators and businesses, it’s the only one still accessible without a massive budget.

Informational websites are dead as a primary growth lever.

AI captures demand, Google buries small players, and SEO has become slow, uncertain, and capital-intensive. The few niches that still work are either ultra-technical or locked down by established players.
If your goal is visibility, traction, brand awareness, or fast market validation, text alone is no longer enough. Attention is still distributed for free, but almost exclusively through video.
The key point isn’t “you must make videos.”
The real rule is “you must produce attention.”
And today, algorithms distribute attention almost entirely via short-form video. You don’t need to show your face. You can automate. You can scale with AI. But if you refuse video, you refuse the flow.
Websites haven’t disappeared. They’ve become back offices, not engines.

Bottom line:
If you want to stay in the game in 2026, video isn’t optional. It’s the entry point.

I suppose the mobile approach would be to put those bullet points after the video in the top fold.

Both of you have perspective and insights with merit I think. Here is the thing, populations have have been becoming more indulgent in videos and that trend has been on the rise since they have become more deeply rooted in expectations since their introduction to the net.

On the other hand, while reading has become less in demand, it has not become lessened in the manner one may expect. While the less intelligent are not as captivated any longer by words on the page, the higher intelligent have never given up on it because a written outline, a written opinion, a written rule, etc., have become have frown in high demand.

One has to find the balance and the balance is the current state of your target audience. The balance is also a moving target with your audience. FIND THE BALANCE and make it your current state of production while watching it's trends of ups and downs in the attention of the target audiences because they adjust daily, weekly, monthly an seasonally. Think of a sale and do what is necessary to keep t within the ZONE!
 
Much depends on your niche. In most cases, video is indeed becoming increasingly popular and replacing read-only content. In practice, a well-designed website with infographics and a responsive design still performs and converts well. Therefore, I personally combine video content with the classic version of the website, which translates to the best revenue results.
