Seeking Help US Sweepstakes in 2026: Still worth running or moving elsewhere?

I've noticed mixed opinions on US sweepstakes recently.

For those still running them:

  • Are you seeing stable volumes?
  • Which traffic sources are surviving?
  • Are advertisers becoming stricter on lead quality?
  • If you moved away from sweeps, where did you go instead?
Not asking for campaign names—just trying to understand whether sweeps are still a viable vertical in 2026.

Sweepstakes remain a highly viable core vertical across our traffic network in 2026, driven by high-intent funnels like quizzes and gamified pre-landers that meet strict advertiser quality demands. While Tier-1 volumes have consolidated, we are seeing the most successful media buyers sustain profitability by leveraging our network on our push and pop traffic, or successfully adapting their funnels toward mobile utilities and high-payout lead gen.

I think US Sweepstakes can still be profitable in 2026, but competition and compliance requirements have increased. Success depends on traffic quality, offer selection, and staying updated with regulations. It's worth testing, but diversifying into other verticals or geos can also reduce risk.

Which traffic sources are performing best?

i think sweepstakes is one of those verticals that's constantly being declared dead and then continues finding ways to evolve. the environment is definitely different than it was a few years ago, but that's true for almost every vertical in performance marketing.

the buyers who continue succeeding are usually the ones adapting their funnels, compliance processes, and traffic strategies rather than expecting old approaches to keep working indefinitely.

Compliance is honestly the bigger risk factor than competition at this point. A lot of sweepstakes offers that were fine a couple years ago now require much more careful disclosure language and entry-rules clarity to avoid getting flagged by networks. If you're still running it, worth doing a periodic audit of your landing pages against current FTC guidance rather than just checking once at launch — rules and enforcement patterns shift more than people expect. Diversifying into a second vertical alongside sweepstakes is probably the safer play either way, agree with what's already been said here.
