I find it hard to promote my own products and affiliate products because you have to do a lot to market your products online. There is a fierce competition in all fields, and there is no time for everything.

Cultivate the relationship with the vendor. I kinda mentioned this above, but what I mean is get on the phone with these people...and separate yourself from the pack. Help them, and they will help you...

Absolutely! As someone who owns a business with an affiliate program, I'm far more likely to offer larger incentives to a affiliate who talks to me directly and seems enthusiastic. Those are the people that I feel are really going to get out there and push because they made the extra effort to get in touch.
