<img src="http://static.flickr.com/15/19161313_45a65fa256_m.jpg" alt="Traffic Pimp" align="left" hspace="10" width="180" />I've been anxiously awaiting any coverage from ad:tech about the Affiliate Marketing session. The 1st report I've found so far was less than favorable and said the panel talked mainly about how Google was mistreating affiliates when they were supposed to be talking about how to launch and grow an affiliate program. Carlen Lea Lesser blogged about the event over at the <a target="_new" href="http://www.adtechblog.com/archives/20060726/its_hard_out_here_for_a_traffic_pimp/">official ad:tech blog</a> and ended with a quote reportedly from Jeff Molander who sat on the panel.

<blockquote>Carlen wrote <strong>"I'll leave you with this final quote from Jeff Molander that should just make you want to rush out and learn more about affiliate marketing."

"It's hard out here for a traffic pimp."</strong> </blockquote>

Nice one Jeff. The guy in the pic reminds me of you. He's even wearing PINK!

She also said "The panelists didn't cover a single thing mentioned in the description. The conference program claimed attendees would learn "essential techniques for you to launch, re-launch and grow your affiliate network." It promised discussions of how to use everything from blogging to phone techniques to grow a profitable affiliate network. While these panelists may have had knowledge of all these topics, they neglected to share them with their audience."

Then come back and share your thoughts.
