Top Retailers Suck at SEO - Thats Why They Need Affiliates

Agreed Linda, which is why the affiliate marketing business module is becoming increasingly popular with even the most traditional Online merchants.

The world?s largest online market place (eBay) and the world?s largest online bookstore (Amazon) both used affiliate marketing to explode their businesses and their sites have terrible SEO.

Just a few years ago it was often difficult to find an affiliate program in a fairly popular niche. Now there's too many to choose from :)

I guess that this is mostly true...But some companies although they could benefit from better SEO can do very well without it...Dell is a case in point...People who are looking for a new computer just type: www.dell.com into their browser. Done...

Affiliate marketing and SEO are two separate issues for merchants. Affiliate marketers are additions to the 'sales force'. If you've got a well known brand and a good base of affiliate marketers, SEO on your site won't really make any sort of major impact on the bottom line.

Thats my opinion anyway...Good buttons to press for someone selling SEO though...
