Thank you for doing this.

What are your tips for doing the targeting when exploring a new market (and no lookalikes are possible yet)?
What I do is looking in Audience Insights, but it is often not so helpful as I often can't use the pages directly in my targeting as displayed there.

You can sometimes use the pages in audience insights, it totally depends. I personally like to try some interests that just make sense for whatever you are targeting. Then I like trying some behaviors, some third party targeting, mix some of them together with "narrow audience". Shoot for audience sizes between 1mil and 5mil or so. I do as high as 30mil sometimes. I like going through everything in the targeting section under browse and seeing what jumps out at me as a potential targeting. If you think it might do well, test it!
