Sub-domains or Multiple domain in geo targeting

Hi

I wanted to hear some opinions whether I should use sub-domains or multiple domains for geo targeting in different languages, pros and cons.

The websites will be the same on all languages (mirror sites), translated of course.

It will be more effective if you have all domains zone (like .ru .fr .it ...) , not sub-domains , but if other domains are sold create with Sub-domains , it's better then one website in different languages .
But you must do SEO optimization for each domain .
