Starting New Forum

Hello Temi and everyone,

I have been running forums for many years and they have been very successful but I've recently started a new Pet forum and I'm struggling to get new members/posts etc. I just need to get people posting so the board looks active so if anyone has any suggestions I'd be very grateful :)

In the days before social networking, starting and populating a forum was easy, this days, its much more difficult to get a forum off the ground. I will suggest you try post exchange, post at other people's forum and in exchange they post in your forums, after a while when you forum have some good contents it will attract members naturally. There is a post exchange ad here, you may want to check it out.

Talk to your self............. Yeah thats right , i said talk to your self lol.

New forums will never attract people to start posting if there isnt some kind of activity or useful posts to read, so do some research and find out what people in your niche search for , create topics as admin , and then reply with other useful info with a couple of other usernames that you have created .

basically your trying to populate your forum to make it look active, This is proven and works a treat , and the best bit is you have total control over what is written so you dont have some one posting that can hardly speak english ;)

Keep it up daily for a couple months and watch the normal members come running in, just remember to keep posting as other user id's even when your members start coming in , and slowly as the forum get's busier you can stop using one at a time.

Try Email Marketing

Hi,

I suggest you to give a shot to email marketing.

Make a database of pet related sites, email them about your forum.

They would be interested since they would like to gain quality one way links and promote their sites.

There won't be any better medium than your pet forum.

I am sure it will be successful.:longtongue:
