Should the UK gov allow Julian Assange safe passage?

Should the UK government allow Julian Assange to travel to Ecuador without being arrested? I think they should uphold his rights and allow him to leave the Country without being extradited to Sweden.

This a rather old one, but Assange's situation has always drawn my attention. When someone fights something as powerful as the USA, it is automatically labeled as a criminal... Rather impressive how everything in Wikileaks disappeared and Assange as well...
