Should I Start Affiliate Marketing in 2025 Now? Is It Still Worth It?

I’m thinking about getting into affiliate marketing this year and wanted to ask if it’s still worth starting in 2025. I’ve seen people say it’s too saturated, but others claim it’s full of opportunity if you pick the right niche or use the right tools. Is there actually a future in this? If so, what niches would you focus on right now, and how would you approach it if you were starting from scratch?

Times may change but commerce has continued for 1,000 of years. So the timing is always wrong until it isn't.
Look, just as an example the AI business was non-existent 10 years ago --today that industry is worth billions.
Right place and the right time is the trick.

Everyone Has To Start Somewhere
As a Newbie, What Stops You From Getting Started

As much as 30% of your time in this business, no matter what stage you are, is researching. This is a fast moving business in some ways and those parts of this industry you must stay on top of. We are becoming a regulated industry. We all research everything, we all spy on one another daily, we all need to know when and where we need to learn, when and where to make adjustments, and when and where to include our efforts.

I’ve seen people say it’s too saturated

Really, did you ever consider the fact they say that because they never learned to be competitive? Anyone that says that is someone that failed and usually because they didn't want to properly invest the time and money to properly enter the industry. This is a business. It isn't 1996 when you could put an eBook out there and expect thousands upon thousands of them to be sold. This is a very sophisticated business and industry now. It is likely the only business that anyone can start with the prospect of having a six figure income in a couple of years without spending hundreds of thousands at college and universities.

Highly competitive is what you want, it means the business environment is healthy!

Is there actually a future in this?

This industry grows by the billions in revenue each and every year. How can you actually ask such a question?

If so, what niches would you focus on right now, and how would you approach it if you were starting from scratch?

This is why you need to read and ask questions. The question you ask would take any of us to write a book, maybe two or three to properly answer that.

This is a business, your answers for that question will come as you research, as you implement, and as you grow. The first niche you select is your school. It is where you will learn this business. Almost all of us rarely end up proliferating our businesses in the initial niche we used to learn the business. Learn about selecting niches, choose one, and stick with it until you master it to the point you have a steady, stable, and profitable business. That's when you will be ready to become successful in additional niches.

Yes in generic niches. Differentiation is non-negotiable.
Forget quick winsild, and have an asset (blog etc) first. 6–12 months of consistent effort is realistic.

Its never late to start. As for the niche, its completely up to you and your situation. Grey niches have higher rewards but also have higher ban rates and require slightly more knowledge. White niches are a good place to have moderate income and is a good testing ground. Back when I started I went ahead with gambling and nutra, then expanded into other niches. Choose something that interests you most where you can add something unique to your creatives and landings as having that extra touch is what makes you most money in this field

Hey! Welcome onboard!
Absolutely worth it—otherwise, thousands of people wouldn’t be doing it every single day.
Sure, some niches are more competitive now, but affiliate marketing is always evolving.

If you’re just starting, focus on choosing the right traffic sources, using the right tools, and testing a lot. And of course, give yourself time to learn :) No one has a guaranteed “working setup,” and early failures are part of the game. Don’t expect overnight success—be ready to test, learn, ask questions, and slowly build your own expertise.

As for what’s working right now—we work with a wide range of verticals, and from what we’re seeing, software & utilities, VPNs, eCommerce, and sweepstakes are performing really well.

BTW, if you need any guides to get started, we’ve a lot of helpful articles on our blog. And we’re always happy to assist you.
So yeah—the best time to start is always now.

Test, learn, and grow

Well yea but the things have changed
Its not so easy like in the past where you would share your links ,build some content and boom you will make sales

Now you need to pay the price and bring real value to people and its not a easy thing and thats way many people quit

So yea its still working but dont think it will be easy ,sometimes it will be more harder than your real job
