Pingbacks are guesses from WordPress on what your blog post might be similar to. Although sometimes it gets a unrelated blog post you should still accept it. Why? Well because pingbacks act as advertisements it will appear on their blog too so your blog will be advertised on theirs. A bit like affiliations.
