Optimize Your Images For SERPs

One one of my sites themed around web design (geared towards
markup - NOT graphics), I have Googlers coming from image
searches on a picture of a dog I have. The image is mere eye
candy on the site, but with the help of the image's alt text,
I get those visitors coming in. Not really relevant traffic,
but a great "experiment" non the less.

On Google's Webmaster tools, you have an option to "enhance"
your site's images for search. I really suggest you do so, as
you'll like the visits you get.

Has anyone else noticed traffic from images?

I have one site that is not fully completed. It gets 8-10 visitors a day from Google - all for images...

Another tip is make sure you put the keyword in the alt attribute of the image tag and also name the image after your keyword.

How much time does Google need to index an image ?
I've made a test, 2 weeks ago, and my image is not still indexed...

What test did you do?

Renamed image with targeted keyword and added "alt" tag with anchored text?

It all depends when spider comes again to crawl your pages... You may try to resubmit sitemap to speed it up a bit.

W3C coding doesnt validate an image unless and until it has ALT text attached to it

Make sure you always have relevant and informative filenames for all your images.
