Google still considers meta description and title tags as one of the parameter for search engine ranking.However meta keyword tag is outdated with respect to Google.Other search engines like Yahoo and MSN still use meta tags for SERPS.
Meta titles are really important for ranking your website.
Meta Keywords are useless.
Meta Descriptions are useless for search engines but are important for CTR.
