Passenger describes moment maggots fell from overhead bin during Delta flight to Detroit

A Delta Air Lines flight heading to Detroit was diverted back to Amsterdam on Tuesday after maggots allegedly began falling on passengers from the overhead storage.

Passenger brought a bag of rotten fish in the cabin as carry on luggage? WTF is wrong with some people?

Oh my god! I shuddered just hearing about it.

As one person mentioned, leaves me wondering how somebody got rotten fish through customs. I one time had to give up a pair of nail scissors. You can't even take water through, never mind creepy crawlies.

Note to self: check overhead bin before sitting.

That is Detroit to Amsterdam NL 11+ hrs each way and the made the flight return with all the passengers because of all of this. That is a red-eye special to Amsterdam you gain 6 hrs in jet lag. I used to go to company meetings in NL on that flight.

Man, would I have a a shit-fit over that ... Sue the airline ...

I love flying but that sounds like hell.

The longest flight I've been on was my very first commercial flight, went to Spain - 7 hours. But that was Wardair, which no longer exists. It was really comfy, wish the airline was still around.
