Its a bad idea to rely on color alone for links. You can also make your links different in other ways then just underlining them, but its generally done by underlining.
Unless you have a very clear idea about what you are making, i would advise to stick with the underlining. Some usability "experts" are even going as far as to say they should be blue and underlined, but thats an obvious exaggeration.
