Is twitter good for SEO?

Any links coming from high PR websites like Twitter, Digg etc are good for a website, not only Twitter's ones.

All backlinks from digg are marked with nofollow tag.
So most social websites are just good for traffic, not for SEO.

I agree... SEO is Search Engine Optimisation... Optimising for the search engines. Twitter helps with traffic but not with search engine placement.

Twitter is not so good for SEO as in gaining rankings in search engines.

However it does allow you to build a good online social presence and ig you interact within the right communities you will generate good leads with people who are interested in what you have to offer!

Building up a profile on Twitter, you will be able to increase the traffic to your site. I don't really think it has other benefits for SEO, but generating traffic should be quite enough
