You can do two things to increase traffic of your site.

1 You can do on page and off page SEO to get higher ranking in search engines, so you can get targeted traffic to your site. It generally takes six to seven months to get higher rankings depending on your target keyword.

2 Or you can do paid advertising to get targeted visitors to your site and its doesn't require too much time but yes it will cost you more money then normal SEO.

There are many ways to get more traffic to your new website. Without knowing what your site it about, if it is an ecommerce site, a service site, a non-profit, or a hobby site.... there are a few basic methods to take to see more visitors:
Develop a marketing strategy
Include a blog on your website, that you post to regularly
Develop social sites, and post updates linking back to products or blogs on your website

You need to do some Off-page SEO works to increase traffic like Directory submission, Social media marketing, Guest posting, etc. You can also consider buying web traffic.
