How to advertise on web-based platforms for iOS?

ios traffic became much harder once attribution and tracking visibility started getting restricted more aggressively. one thing i’ve noticed is that a lot of campaigns still fail because advertisers optimize too early with incomplete data.

with ios especially, broad assumptions based on tiny datasets can destroy campaigns before the algorithm even stabilizes. placement quality and post-click behavior matter way more now than they did a few years ago

Usually through mobile ad networks, social media ads, search ads, or direct placements on websites/apps with iOS traffic. A lot of advertisers use platforms like Apple Search Ads, Meta, Google, TikTok, or ad networks that allow device targeting for iOS users specifically. The main thing is making sure your landing page and tracking work well on Safari/iOS, since that ecosystem has stricter privacy rules now.

For iOS traffic, a lot of advertisers now use web-based funnels instead of direct App Store promotion because of Apple’s restrictions around tracking, gambling, subscriptions, and certain ad categories. Usually the flow is ad - landing page - smart redirect or PWA/web app. The key things are fast mobile loading, clean UX, compliance with Apple policies, and strong pre-landing content because iOS users tend to drop off quickly if the funnel feels suspicious or overly aggressive. Tracking also becomes more complicated because of ATT/privacy limitations, so server-side tracking and good attribution setup matter a lot now.
