Forum links are crap. Seriously, you can build millions of forum links with GSA.

Here is the basic rule. The harder the link is to get then the more value it has. If anyone can signup and get a link in 30 seconds then the link has no value, but a link from apple.com homepage (extreme exaggeration) has massive value.

It more about the quality and relevance then quantity
