How long would you wait for payment?

Hello esteemed Affiliatefix members :)

Question: How long would you wait for a delayed payment, without hearing anything, before you change your websites and your offer? I sent an email a week ago (and today) with no response - and I havent received payment for July.

Note: All traffic is through SEO = People looking for a certain kind of 'foreign' dating website :)

I have some niche affiliate websites within the online dating niche - and with one of my partners I have been selling leads on a commission basis for quite some time, as I got my first sale in 2017. Since then things have been working with no issues. I think the company has recently been acquired, but they own and operate probably the largest inventory of international dating websites.

Now: I usually get my payment latest 20 days after the month has ended. For example, January earnings would be paid out by latest 20th February. February earnings would be paid out latest by March 20th and so on.

Since my first commission we are in the range of $30.000+ in payments

What would you do - how long would you wait? :)

Any payment past due 30 days is a collection issue. I would pull my links 10 days after a no response from the debtor party and tell them "until I/we see some payment—no more traffic." No point in digging even a deeper hole.

Hire a lawyer local to the debtor if they continue to default on any payment.

I wouldn't wait long. I would certainly ask them if there are issues and if there are none then let them know you are happy to litigate it to get some answers. There has been an uptick in this behavior this year and often with some of the more established companies. It is getting crazy out there with the networks. They have been getting slammed with business from MFA sites and many of them are sinking to less than compliant behavior that is often not found until they have already made payouts.

If you have been getting paid properly for most of your time with them and this is sudden and unexplained, then it is a sign they may have some internal issues they are not revealing. Especially when they won't respond. I always go with the suggestion of litigation because they don't want to pay lawyers to placate a proven money earner for them.
