i strongly recommend you to use anti virus software that is avasta.. it is genuine. and scans for viruses with in short time.. so by using avasta your system will be fully secured
I personally use AVG free edition. It works pretty good, for now.
My pc crashed a while ago, then I had Avira installed, so I decided to change the antivir, though I have no idea if the antivir had anything to do with it.
I have heard a lot of good opinions about Avasta. Maybe I should install that...
I think that you never can be fully confirmed that your computer is absolutely free from any kind of infection. You can install the best anti-virus on the planet but always there is a chance that any smarter virus/trojan/spy etc. will not to your system. It's like us, humans: you just need to protect your health, but there are so many viruses that can kill us if we don't. The same you can do for your machine.
First: Do not contact with any kind of probably insecure or dangerous sites. Many of virmakers like porno-site because they have good traffic and low protection.
Second: Anti-virus and firewall are your friends in this fight against infections. You are to know all settings of these programs and use it well. Don't forget to schedule scan your system once a week.
Third: Back up your system. Today there are many kinds of back-up programs. Well-configured it will help you in all(!!!) kinds of infections and other problems.
Are you talking serious? May be you need some "Format C:/" key for your keyboard?
Good installed and protected system will serve you for years! Some servers have been working since 80's up today without reinstall. So just take care of your system.
