Hosting companies no phone support - Servage the dinosaur

I've used them in the past but I'm not a fan of them popping up asking me to talk (like they do/did on rackspace).

Since I hate using the phone, offering phone support isn't going to increase the companies "worth" to me unless its something more than hosting/dedi (i.e. transit/etc).

Also any "internet company" that requires me to use the phone makes me cringe and that includes Nominet and thier "you cannot pay for membership applications online".

At the end of the day it's about appealing to as many people as possible. :)

The mass market, e.g. your parents, friends, relatives might not be hugely internet savvy, but they want a website with email - these types of people are hugely reassured by the ability to call their hosting provider on the phone and for someone to talk them through things like adding their email account in Outlook.
 
I'm not a fan offer phone support. Consumption of more time-consuming and other methods. What's worse is that its technology is capable of handling only one thing on the phone ... face multiple problems in the service center again
