Greetings and salutations to all; I'm here primarily because I love marketing and hanging out with other people who love marketing.
That's kind of weird, isn't it? Lots of people love the idea of making money at their computer without working a full-time job, but not so many actually love the marketing in and of itself. But I figure those people would be here if they were anywhere.
I'm not just a marketer, of course... it's not even my main professional skill; I'm primarily a project manager, formerly a software developer, and lately I've been dabbling in pyrotechnics (fireworks). Those who live in western Washington can see my pyrotechnic work after pretty much any Rainiers home game at Cheney stadium this year, although I'm still one of the grunts rather than the guy in charge. And honestly, it's been nice not being the one in charge for a while... managing programmers is nobody's idea of a good time.
With the recent cutbacks and layoffs at Microsoft, I'm out of work for an unspecified period of time, so I'm making an earnest attempt to turn this marketing interest of mine into an income. Maybe it will work; maybe not. But at the very least, I'll have fun trying.
