I agree, it doesn't look spammy, has comments....AND...even though I only read the first page (I hate those multi-page things), I learned something. I didn't know about the gas gauge letting you know what side of the car the gas cap is on.

They could easily slip contextual links and banners in those articles for CPA offers.

If the content is either interesting or compelling to me I will open a few pages.
From the publisher's POV each new page is a new advertising opportunity.
I have to admit; I often am more looking at the layouts and the ads as a competitor would however.
