Ok after a long hiatus from AFF marketing I am looking to get back into it and have a few questions.

1. Is it still possible to make income using websites?
2. What are the to 5 things I need to know that are different from AFF Marketing from say 2010.

1. Is it still possible to make income using websites?

Of course it is and in a far more sophisticated and business like manner that opens the doors to bigger money and more sustainable business models. If you are referring to content sites, then that's where the big money can really be made and have a sellable asset when you decide to exit.

2. What are the to 5 things I need to know that are different from AFF Marketing from say 2010.

Dozens of new tools. More refined techniques, methods, and strategies. A far greater selection of networks and programs to work with, and so, so, much more. The answer to your question can easily fill two paperback 500 words per page paperbacks.
Your question is a perfect question to ask, and your answers will come as needed when you spend the next few months learning about it/them and start implementing.
