Shawn Collins reports that The NAI (Network Advertising Initiative) will be holding a Strategic Forum to discuss Building Trust in Affiliate Marketing on December 12th. In attendance and sitting on the panel discussions will be people from the FTC, CDT, the State of New York Office of the Attorney General, numerous attorneys, policy makers, representatives from Performics, Ebay, Datran Media, aQuantive and Shawn himself, among others. If you are concerned with the changing legal landscape in affiliate marketing or want to be involved in policy decisions involving best practice issues, then this event is something you should attend.

"Clearly, there is great value in affiliate marketing. Yet there is also an urgent need to respond to the lack of accountability and abuse that characterizes the industry. A failure to act will surely lead advertisers to reject the risks inherent in affiliate marketing. Furthermore, regulatory and enforcement action can only increase in our current environment. There is a clear and compelling need for strategic dialogue on these issues."
