I have been doing a lot of reading and watching probably way too many youtube videos on the subject. Trying not to get frustrated, but it's a challenge.

Too bad there isn't a vertical for a java programmer. Now that I know.

The domain name is a nobrainer: if you don't want to trademark and brand it -- anything
Vertical: either pick something you know the market for or feel has potential. This is were using a *neutral* domain name is advantageous -- you can pivot seamlessly -- use subdomains for the verticals.
