Fashion Affiliate Marketing Journey 2021 (SEO Traffic)

I'm starting to think maybe @Strickland is correct about Google having a "sandbox" or waiting period for ranking in organic search results

Can't be 100% but get the impression there's something in the algorithm that notices when a non authority site has been consistently posting high quality content, while following all the Google Webmaster Guidelines for 3-6 months

I'm starting to think maybe @Strickland is correct about Google having a "sandbox" or waiting period for ranking in organic search results
They used to have a sandbox, I thought I heard that they did away with it when they started the animal updates. Perhaps not. It wouldn't be the first time that G changed things without notice, either way.

Updates happen every day
What they are, Google won't say
I rank organic, while many people pay
We all need to keep the spammers at bay !!
I meant (but didn't say :)) the Panda (?) algo update where all the site owners were deleting hundreds of pages from their sites to comply and were given lower ranking if bad people linked to their site, even if they didn't know it was happening.

It was a sh*t show. If nothing else, it proved to G that they are all-powerful. They were able to make people delete years of work, and in some cases, lose income, especially the little guys.

I tested and uninstalled Google Amp plugin
Destroyed my site, doing the exact opposite of what it says
As for that plugin - I'd never heard of it but yikes! Judging by the reviews, others had a similar experience to yours, what a disaster.

They are only as powerful as we allow them to be
That is true of anything/anyone, be it Google or Government. I think people forget that sometimes.

Everyone could start using DuckDuckGo
Been using it (unless I need more in-depth info) for a few years now. I recommend it to anyone who wants out of G eyesight.

Some housecleaning today
  • Checking Wordpress category pages have H1 titles
  • Fishing out & fixing broken links (never ending task part 1)
  • Listed new products, delisted out-of-stock items (never ending task part 2)
  • Viewed some affiliate network blogs/vids
  • Watched Google's weekly SEO podcast (super informative)
Really need to step up my game now
  1. Stay focused Monday - Friday in work hours
  2. Only complete tasks on calendar
  3. Only post about trending/selling products
  4. Start making min $67/day (currently $25/day)
  5. Order bike parts for some downhill

My 5th fashion affiliate site is underway
The key aim of this site is product automation
No manual product updating, except for SEO
Also creating an updated site creation checklist for faster affiliate site rollouts
My new happy word is :p "AUTOMATION" :p

Aside from regular tasks I'm trialing some "Special Focus Days" this week
On 3 days I will commit 4 hours (split either side of lunch) to create project intelligence reports
  • Mon 10 --> Regular tasks & creating report format templates
  • Tue 11 --> Automation Day
  • Wed 12 --> Customer Analysis Day
  • Thu 13 --> Competitor Analysis Day
  • Fri 14 --> Regular tasks
It's good to mix up my schedule some, otherwise gets boring

Scheduled repeats next week
  • Mon 17 --> Regular tasks
  • Tue 18 --> Social Media Analysis Day
  • Wed 19 --> SEO Analysis Day
  • Thu 20 --> Video (YouTube) Analysis Day
  • Fri 21 --> Regular tasks
Plus week after
  • Mon 24 --> Regular tasks
  • Tue 25 --> Affiliate Networks Analysis Day
  • Wed 26 --> Affiliate Programs Analysis Day
  • Thu 27 --> Affiliate Products Analysis Day
  • Fri 28 --> Regular tasks
This leaves last day of May
  • Mon 31 --> Affiliate Fix Analysis Day (reading old threads)
Month end, should have a really solid project plan

Driving traffic to an incomplete website is not a good idea for SEO, since the Google CruX Report is likely to return data that signals to the Google algorithm that visitors did not enjoy a positive user experience on your unfinished website

It's therefore a good idea to turn off indexing by search engines until your site is finished - this is where your website optimization checklist comes into play

Google's Search Central Channel on YouTube has 430,000 subscribers
But the weekly SEO videos receive only 4-5,000 views
Which means 430,000 are kinda interested
But only 1% of of them are actually serious
Now these videos are typically 1 hour long
They contain multiple audience questions, and detailed technical answers
It can be a drag to watch the whole show (I normally drink a Budweiser 4-pack by the end)
It's filled with undecipherable foreign accents, awful audio and spam questions
But amongst the garbage normally I learn 4-5 new things about Google and SEO
This leads me to further research on Google's Search Central Website
Ends up that I learn around 10 new SEO skills each week
You do the math and 10 skills x 50 weeks (minus Xmas) = 500 new SEO skills every year

That's the difference between being kinda interested about SEO and actually serious
.. In terms of consistently ranking top of of Google's organic search results,
Getting hundreds of thousands of visitors
and getting thousands of dollars in commission

Had a really deep think about my affiliate projects yesterday
Question is how to make 100% sure its successful (earning min $67/day commission)
I think too many projects puts on a time pressure and dilutes quality
Came to the conclusion it's best to put all other projects on hold
Focus on ONE fashion affiliate site
Get it finished and earning, before starting anything else
So from now this thread is about one fashion clothing affiliate website

I love the way you have everything so organized
Thank you @Strickland
It's not easy, but scheduling with Google Calendar has helped alot
Setting lots of very specific notifications, texts, emails and other reminders

The products I promote are highly-popular brand name fashion accessories
My main task is looking for ways to take organic traffic from competitor sites
Been researching YouTube SEO
My main competitor is strong on editorial but weak on video content & image optimization
That's my play, because both video and images can override his content in Google's organic search results
Found a useful YouTube tool today --> youtube.com/videomasthead

Also looking for a legal way to get into Google's free product ads

Focused on my minimum core objective, to pay bills
--> $67/day ($2k/mo) consistently
There is no other alternative

"The 4th Sub Category SEO Ranking Strategy" (4CAT)

This is my new SEO ranking template for my affiliate fashion website
Now tracking 81 keywords using Ubersuggest.com
Calling it 4CAT, because it lists 4 levels after the main keyword (that's probably not logical English)
  1. Website name (example --> "designer travel bags") - example domain --> designertravelbags . com
  2. Top 10 brand keywords (example --> "gucci designer travel bags")
  3. Top 10 brand 1st sub categories (example --> "gucci designer travel bags for women")
  4. Top 10 brand 2nd sub categories (example --> "leather gucci designer travel bags for women")
  5. Top 5 brand products (example --> "black leather gucci designer travel bag for women")
This simplifies my SEO strategy and I can track progress much more easily
It worked in 2020 and helped me to earn $12,000 so I'm trying it again in 2021

Never thought about that. Great idea! Takes out a mad rush to get things done asap.
