Evergreen Content?

Evergreen content ideally should retain it's value for a long time for obvious reasons but reading an article a few days ago I learned that for certain queries, fresh content will get higher rankings. So though many people believe evergreen content will draw traffic to their sites forever it might not be so [any more]

Question: for SEO, should evergreen content be regularly edited [say two or more times a year] so it appears "fresh" to search engines?

there is nothing content usage in the form of evergreen, you must periodically optimize your website content to get better ranking
