Domain or Not To Domain, that is the question

I have been torn between these two options for many years, but I have lately settled on domain forwarding. I would love to hear your opinions.

I am taking about using godaddy and getting a domain, then redirecting/forwarding it directly to a specific offer or page.

The majority of all of my traffic first see my domain. I use one domain and it remains static in all of the media channels that it lives on. (blogs,podcasts, forums, articles, etc...) If and affiliate offer changes/closes/gets shut down I can simply redirect my domain to another link and be up and running in usually less than 15 minutes without a loss of traffic.

why? seems pointless to me. what do you gain by this?
the domain name is never seen by the user on a 302 or 301 redirect.
can you redirect blabla. com/name/ -> offer URL?
or just the parent blabla. com/ -> offer URL?

It also would make a difference where you utilize the domain n your marketing as well.
