Does anyone make money giving out free stuff?

With the economy the way it is this seems like it would be a way to make money right now is this true?

It can be part of a market strategy you may implement to drive traffic to your website and people look at other things you may profit from.

Your exactly right! Give out a lot of free stuff and build different lists. Lists are the best targeted traffic you can hope to get. Best of all you got them for free! Give them a good free product, sell something to them cheap for like $7.00 and then prime it for a big product. Treat your list right and they will make you money for years to come!

You can make money giving away free stuff for sure...

However, in my experience, the people that you give free stuff to are just looking for "free stuff", right? Sure, some of them may later become paying customers of yours, but a good way around that is to charge something, even if it is only $1 or even filling out a quiz to give you some data upfront.

At least you know upfront with these people that they are willing to part with their paypal money or to give up the digits to their credit card
