Do talking presenters on websites work?

Has anyone seen these video presenters which you can put onto web pages?
Do they work? Are they are a way of reducing bounce? Or are they just annoying?
I'm looking at ways of making a clients site more appealing using digital media.

Interested in your thoughts.

Actually for me, I exit such websites immediately, I really hate those talking character

thanks for your speedy replies... I also think they could be annoying, if they're made badly... but I have seen some great examples and have lots of clients interested! I've heard people talking about VideoTile and KWIKVID who are based in the UK, like me.

Before I go ahead with one, I'd like to find out abit more information, does anybody think they are any good? :helpsign:
