Keyword Density is the percentage of times a keyword or a word or a phase appear in a webpage to thew total number of words in that webpage. it should be 2-3% in an content. More than that consider spam by the search engine.

I call it sleeper spamming
spammer posts dumb thread about topic
then other spammers reply dumb replies
then spammer will drop a hyperlink
sometimes change text to not appear as link
they think it helps SEO
but it really really doesnt
Google is way smarter now
